Step off the Boat

Dante snapped out of his day dreams when the boat reached the shore. Stepping off the boat, he took a deep breath, finding an elevated rock to examine his surroundings.  Seeing all the excited gorgis begin their journey gave him a spark of excitement. The elder guide explained to the crowd that there were two primary directions, East or West.

The West looked pretty barren, and not too kind on the paws with the radiating hot sand, so Dante chose east. Once again donning the imaginative persona of Dorian the Bold, the gorgi charged off through the Western path.

Running through the seaside air was invigorating. His paws sunk through  the soft sand, making his gait a bit awkward. Dante almost let out a whoop of exchitement when suddenly he tripped and landed face first into  the sand.

He groaned and pulled himself up, looking at his sand covered cosplay gear in dismay.  I spent so much time on this, He thought as he dug sand out of the cardboard panels with his nails. Let's hope the rest of the hike goes better than this...
